Applying to college can be overwhelming, challenging, confusing and sometimes filled with inaccurate or obsolete information from parents, or peers. We aim to eliminate this anxiety with a holistic approach and managing the entire college planning and application process from start to finish.
Our Philosophy
Finding the right school, the right program starts with understanding the student first. What are the student's goals ? What are their hobbies, extracurricular activities ? What career choices are they looking into ? (And its ok if they are still exploring!) Remember your student is only in high school now and may not know which direction they want to go.
At Resolute College Counseling, we believe that every student is unique and their need is unique. We take a holistic approach in guiding each student and customize a comprehensive plan to help the student achieve their goal.
How do we do it ? We think of college counseling as two phases:
- College planning - how to help build a solid, all-round profile in high school to maximize the chances of finding a spot in the school thats the best fit for them
- College applications - how to identify a list of colleges and programs and guide a student through the actual application process

It is important to understand the goals of the student. We begin with a detailed interview with the parents and the student and help them articulate their career goals and college aspirations

It is important to build the right profile to highlight, or enhance the profile of the student in a manner that is relevant to their field of choice. We build a 4 year plan, collaboratively with the student, navigating course selection, extracurricular activities and roles that help set the student apart.

Although many schools made standardized testing optional, it is still a good guide of where the student may excel. We help with strategizing on whether to take standardized tests, and if so, which ones to take and when.

We help students explore and discover the best schools for their field, best means best fit for them. We work proactively to build a college list and research the schools for majors, scholarships, proximity to home and many such attributes.

We assist with the actual applications, in helping put together a project plan of when to apply, where to apply and what to highlight in the applications in a structured way.
